Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
The short version: the app keeps your data on your device and in your own private iCloud. We have no servers, run no analytics, use no third-party trackers, and cannot see what you log. Ever. The one piece of information we can see is an email address — and only if you type it into the launch list on this website yourself.
This policy explains how Oito (“the app”, “we”) handles your information. Oito is a personal life-balance tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch built around the 8/8/8 idea — eight hours of work, sleep, and life. It covers both the app and this website.
What Oito stores
Everything you log — your daily time blocks (work, sleep, life), your goals, and any personal notes — is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, this data also syncs through your own private iCloud account (Apple’s CloudKit private database), which only you can access. We cannot read it.
Apple Health (sleep)
If you grant permission, Oito reads only your sleep data from Apple Health to fill the sleep block for you. This reading happens entirely on your device. Health data is never sent off your device, never shared, and never used for anything other than showing you your own balance. Oito never writes to Apple Health. You can revoke this access anytime in the Health app or iOS Settings.
Calendar (optional)
If you opt in, Oito reads the duration of your calendar events to estimate your work hours — a suggestion you always confirm before saving. This happens on your device only; your events are never sent anywhere. You can revoke Calendar access anytime in iOS Settings.
The launch list on this website
This website has one form: the field where you can leave your email to be told when Oito reaches the App Store. It is the only place where we collect anything, and it is entirely optional — the app itself never asks for an email.
If you submit it, here is exactly what happens:
- What we store: your email address, the date you subscribed, and which form on the page you used. Nothing else — no name, no IP profile, no behavioural tracking.
- Where it is stored: with Buttondown, an email service acting as our processor. It is not stored on any server of ours.
- Why we have it (legal basis): your consent, given by submitting the form. Buttondown sends you a confirmation link, and your address is only added to the list once you click it.
- What we use it for: one email announcing the launch. We do not sell, rent or share the list, and we do not send a newsletter.
- How to get out: every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which deletes you from the list. You can also write to us and we will remove you.
Under Brazil’s LGPD (and the GDPR, if you are in Europe) you may ask us at any time to confirm what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to the address at the bottom of this page and we will act on it.
The site itself sets no cookies, loads no fonts or scripts from other companies, and runs no analytics — so there is nothing to consent to beyond the form you fill in yourself.
What we do NOT collect
- No accounts, no sign-up, no email required to use the app.
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking — in the app or on this site.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs collecting your data.
- No selling or sharing of data — including the launch list.
Subscriptions & payments
Oito Pro is an optional subscription. Purchases and payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Notifications
Oito can send you a gentle daily reminder. These are local notifications scheduled on your device — there is no push server involved and no data leaves your device to deliver them.
Your control
You are always in control of your data. You can delete any entry inside the app, and deleting the app removes its on-device data. To remove synced data, delete Oito’s data from your iCloud settings. Since your data lives on your device and your private iCloud, you can export or erase it at any time.
Children
Oito is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because the app collects no personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to gather from users of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and revise the “last updated” date above.
